Antique Figural Swaddled Baby Sterling Silver Needle Case

English Import * Hallmarked 1891

This little figural sterling silver needle case is in the form of a baby in swaddling clothes. It was made in Germany and imported into England. Around the neck it has the English sterling import hallmarks for London 1891 and the importer's mark (D?). It is cast silver and is quite heavy and solid (49.79 grams).

The condition is excellent with no dents or other damage and it measures 2 7/8" long. The top is hinged and it closes securely. This piece has been often reproduced, but this one is the real antique.

I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented.
