Figural Brass Mandolin Tape
Measure Continental * Circa 1900s This antique tape measure is made of brass in the form of a mandolin. It was probably made in Germany or Austria. It has lovely detail with decorative engraving and real strings. Inside is a wind-up tape measure. The woven tape is marked in both inches and centimeters, and it is complete and original. Turning the handle at the end winds it back in and it works very well. It measures 2 3/4" long x 1" wide. The condition is excellent with no dents, loss or other damage. One like this is shown on p. 126 of Collecting Figural Tape Measures by Arbittier & Morphy.
