This is an authentic original production script from The Andy Griffith Show for the Season 8 episode "Goober, The Executive," production #2H (Episode #221), written by Michael Morris and Seaman Jacobs, dated June 20, 1967.
In this classic episode, Goober is placed in charge of Wally's Filling Station while Wally is away. Excited by his promotion, Goober quickly begins taking his managerial responsibilities a little too seriously, leading to the kind of good-natured humor and small-town charm that made Mayberry one of television's most beloved communities.
Unlike many television scripts that were assigned to actors or crew members, this original studio-produced script was created for use during the production of the series, although the original recipient is unknown. It remains an authentic working production document from one of the most successful and enduring television series ever produced.
Few television programs have enjoyed the longevity of The Andy Griffith Show. More than sixty years after its original broadcast, the citizens of Mayberry continue to entertain millions of viewers around the world. Original production scripts provide collectors with the rare opportunity to own the very documents used in bringing these timeless episodes to life before the cameras ever rolled.
