The front features colour Australian bird illustration with  eight different Australian birds: magpie, laughing kookaburra, crimson rosella, grey fantail, eastern whipbird, lyrebird, superb fairy wren and bell miner (or Australasian figbird) among branches and foliage. Visible wording includes: Familiar Australian Singers; With compliments of the Singer Sewing Machine Co.; Calendar 1913 / 1914; M. Staines, Merivale; free trial. The design is especially attractive for its natural history subject, decorative lettering and period advertising layout.

The reverse carries green printed calendar for 1913 and part of 1914 with retailer/agent stamp and free trial wording. The wording recorded from the card includes: Familiar Australian Singers; With compliments of the Singer Sewing Machine Co.; Calendar 1913 / 1914; M. Staines, Merivale; free trial. Note: Agent stamp partly obscured; name appears to read M. Staines, Merivale.
