This auction is for six (6) Vintage Johnson Brothers The Friendly Village Bread & Butter Plates - Sugar Maples. Each plate, which is 5/8” tall and 6-1/4” in diameter, is in very good vintage condition with no damage, chips, cracks but one has some crazing on the bottom.
These are Johnson Brothers Friendly Village "Sugar Maples" bread and butter plates. The design features a hand-colored winter scene with a person and a red-roofed building, surrounded by a brown transferware border of leaves, flowers, and pinecones.
The "Made in England" version was produced from 1953 until 2003. Newer versions were made in China after 2003.
