WOOD-FIRED HANDLED CUP — ASH GLAZE
This is a brand new wood-fired Shigaraki ware (信楽焼, Shigaraki-yaki) handled cup from Shigaraki, Japan. The surface is glazed in a deep reddish-brown iron tone, with a soft white ash glaze sweeping across the lower body — a natural effect created by wood-fired kiln ash settling and melting onto the clay during firing.
A single curved handle is attached to the side, and the unglazed base reveals the warm, naturally textured stoneware clay characteristic of Shigaraki ware.
Diameter (approx.): 11.5 cm
Origin: Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture, Japan
