Description

You are looking at a nice 1934A $10 Silver Certificate The Friedberg ID is Fr. 1702 and has the signatures of Julian-Morgenthau.  The serial number is A85444379A (A-A block).

This note has been certified by PCGS Currency as Very Fine (VF) 25 PPQ (Premium Paper Quality).

This note faces up well for the grade and is completely original and unmolested - no pinholes, tears, splits, major soiling, foreign substances, teller ink, pencil or ink annotations, etc.  It has also avoided any false upgrades over the years by shady dealers trying to improve its appearance, such as pressing, ironing, cleaning, erasing, repairing pinholes or tears, etc.  I love the lower-grade PQ notes like this, especially in the VF-35 grades and below — they are true miracles of survival and originality!  The VF-25 graded notes, like this one, that have been awarded the coveted PPQ designation, are the perfect intersection of value, eye appeal, and originality!  Pick this one up for roughly the same cost to have it graded!

The best part about this note is that PCGS has awarded it the PPQ designation!  From the PCGS website:  To distinguish notes that bear all the hallmarks of complete originality and outstanding paper quality for the grade, PCGS will affix a “PPQ” (Premium Paper Quality) designation to the grade. These are notes that bear no visible evidence of restoration and that retain all signs of fully original paper quality, such as paper wave, embossing, and bold ink color and eye appeal. “PPQ” notes should also have above average paper for the grade that is free of defects such as tears, pinholes, or other problems. This is not done to penalize those notes that are not fully original, as many are very collectible and highly valuable. Instead, this system is designed to reward those notes, both circulated and New, that possess premium paper quality and complete originality. It should be understood that even though a note may be fully original and free of any restoration, it still might not qualify for the “PPQ” designation.

Don't fall for the "Super High Grade", "Killer Grade", or "Awesome Grade" uncertified notes being sold on eBay today. You never know what you are going to get with an uncertified (raw) note and what potentially has been done to the note in the past to enhance it's appearance or hide issues that will bring down the grade and the note's value.  Pick this note up in a certified TPG (Third-Party Grader) holder and ensure you're purchasing a note worthy of your investment and without hidden issues!

About Us

I am a lover and collector, not a dealer, of US coins and currency, specifically coins from the 19th century and the early days of small currency.  I believe in being fair and honest in all of my dealings on Ebay both as a seller and buyer. I strive to supply photos (and videos where applicable) that fairly and honestly show the true condition and overall appearance of my coins and currency that I sell. I do not modify my photos to enhance the appearance or hide any potential flaws in the condition of the coins and currency. In most cases, I will offer multiple photos of each item from different angles to try and capture the complete appearance of the coin and currency. As a collector myself who purchases currency on Ebay, I know what it's like to receive a note that was misrepresented through various methods and either get stuck with it or have to go through the return process and paying the cost of shipping (most times both ways), and strive to avoid that for you here!
