Absolutely exquisite antique handkerchief measures 10" x 10". I believe this is tape lace with lovely filling stitches, with a   center that features a Maltese cross. From research on this, it may be 1890s hand work. No guarantee because I am not an expert on this. If you have more info on this, please let me know. I appreciate any info you may have.

This piece is amazing because of the amount of hand work which fills so much of the body. It certainly is a work of beautiful art. The color is a cream?  Edges are stunning, with added style instead of straight lines, so this may have taken quite a bit longer to create. Dainty flowers are so pretty and add a feminine feel. Buttonhole circles add a 3D effect. Other types of stitches look like netting, swirls with knot designs inside, pinwheel type circles here and there. This is very light weight and see-through, very delicate and intricate. This handkerchief is preowned and does have some issues. One corner has a few threads broken-very tiny. The center has some marks, and there may be other issues such as broken bridges, thread ends, broken or pulled threads, marks, or other issues I miss. Because of the age, this is to be expected.
