NEW VIRGINIA, IOWA.

The Burlington Route (Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad) depot in New Virginia, Iowa, was an important stop on a narrow-gauge line built in the early 1880s. This vital transportation and livestock shipping hub helped spur the area's growth before the route was eventually discontinued and the station was closed
