Note: I have deliberately priced this classic f/2 lens well below the £350+ market average for pristine copies to account for a minor optical flaw (detailed below) and to help offset the cost of eBay's mandatory Buyer Protection Fee applied at checkout.
The Vintage "Bokeh Monster": Nikon Nikkor 135mm f/2 AI Up for sale is the legendary Nikon Nikkor 135mm f/2 AI manual focus telephoto prime lens. Renowned for its massive front glass element, tank-like all-metal construction, and incredible background-melting bokeh, this is a grail lens for portraiture. It is fantastic native on Nikon F-mount cameras, but also incredibly popular for adapting to modern mirrorless systems (Sony E, Fuji X, Nikon Z, Panasonic L) for cinematic video work.
This specific lens is a "user copy"—mechanically excellent but with an optical imperfection, making it a brilliant opportunity for a creative looking for vintage f/2 character over sterile perfection.
Condition: Vintage User / Good
Optics (7/10): Please read carefully: There is a single 1mm cosmetic blemish on the front glass element. Because this is a 135mm telephoto focal length shooting through massive f/2 glass, this tiny mark is completely bypassed by the light path and does not show up in photos or affect image quality. Additionally, as is standard with 40-year-old vintage lenses, there is minor dust inside the barrel. No fungus, no haze, no balsam separation.
Mechanics (9/10): The manual focus ring is nicely damped and turns smoothly from end to end—perfect for video focus pulls. The aperture ring clicks decisively into place, and the 9 aperture blades are snappy, dry, and free of oil.
Cosmetics (8/10): The solid metal barrel is in great vintage condition, showing normal, honest signs of use and minor edge brassing typical of a lens from this era.
What's Included:
Nikon Nikkor 135mm f/2 AI Prime Lens
Original Vintage Nikon Metal Front Cap (Highly sought after by itself!)
Replacement Rear Lens Cap (Generic Nikon F-Mount)
⚠️ Important Note on Compatibility: This is a fully manual "AI" (Auto-Indexing) vintage lens. It does not have autofocus. It will mount directly to Nikon F-mount cameras (check your manual for metering compatibility) or can be easily adapted to virtually any modern mirrorless camera using a cheap £15 adapter.
Security Note: To ensure a safe transaction for both parties, all serial numbers are recorded, and the item has been discretely security marked prior to dispatch. Refunds will only be issued once the returned item is verified against our shipping logs.
