Masters of the Universe Origins (2020–Present)

Released by Mattel in 2020, the Masters of the Universe Origins line is a modern revival of the classic 1980s Masters of the Universe toy line. Designed to capture the look, scale, and play pattern of the original vintage figures while incorporating modern articulation, Origins combines retro aesthetics with enhanced poseability. Most figures stand approximately 5.5 inches tall and feature 16 points of articulation, interchangeable parts, classic-style accessories, mini-comics, and vintage-inspired packaging. The line recreates iconic heroes, villains, creatures, vehicles, and playsets from the original MOTU era while also expanding into previously unreleased concepts, mini-comic designs, Princess of Power characters, Horde members, Snake Men, and other corners of Eternia's mythology. Origins has become one of Mattel's most successful collector-focused MOTU lines, appealing to both longtime fans seeking modern versions of vintage toys and new collectors discovering the franchise for the first time.
