This Vintage TEAC Sound on Sound & Stereo Echo Unit has been tested and is working well. Please read below for more details. It is in good condition with only a few scratches / marks as can be seen in the photos.
It was Manufactured by TEAC in Japan.
Designed in the Golden Era of Analogue Tape, it Allows Users to Mix and Bounce Audio Between Tape Tracks or Generate Analogue Tape-Delay Echo Effects. It was Used as an Accessory to Reel to Reel Tape Recorders.
It is Supplied exactly as Seen in the Photos i.e. No Original Box, Packaging or Paperwork
Specifications:
- Primary Function: Sound-on-sound recording and analogue echo generation.
- Compatibility: Requires a three-head, stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder (like the TEAC 3340 or X-series) with independent record and play capabilities.
- Controls: Two prominent red buttons (Add 1 and Add 2) for selecting effect routing, plus a rotary level control.
- Echo Effect: Achieved by patching the tape deck’s outputs through the AX-10 and back into the deck's inputs, using the tape's mechanical speed to dictate the delay length.
