Bang and Olufsen beocenter 7700 with master control panel

Phono and radio are working fine all button functions for these are also working fine

The cassette player will not play tapes it just keeps turning off

The master control panel sends signal fine for phono tape and radio plus volume but

there is some corrosion to the battery compartment

I’m not sure if this is right but when using the control panel on the phono, I press phono to play and to stop records but the needle doesn’t return, but it does when using the main buttons on beocenter

Please note that there is no needle with this
