This book contains the first meeting and the formation of the original Guardians of the Galaxy, also seen in the Marvel movies. Note, that the movie shows the original team, but its focused on what is generally on a different team.
The original team contains representatives from various colonized planets: Charlie-25 from Jupiter, Martinex, a crystal man from Pluto, Major Vance Astro from Earth, and Yondu from Alpha Centuri.
The book also contain some Golden age reprints starring the Sub Mariner, Miss America and the Human Torch/Toro.
