This rare portfolio contains 25 color lithographs illustrating the Book of Genesis by the renowned artist Abel Pann, published by the Artistic Publishing Company Ltd. in Jerusalem during the early 1920s. Measuring approximately 45 cm (17.7 inches), the portfolio includes 5 pages of introductory text and 25 color plates depicting biblical scenes from the Creation through the Flood. Also included is a bilingual Hebrew and English introduction written by the artist, discussing the challenge and inspiration behind his biblical illustrations. This work represents the first part of Pann's celebrated Bible illustration series.

Abel Pann was among the most influential Jewish artists of the early twentieth century. Invited by Boris Schatz to teach at Bezalel, he became internationally recognized for both his depictions of Jewish history and his dramatic biblical imagery. His Genesis illustrations are considered among the most important artistic interpretations of the Hebrew Bible produced in pre-state Israel.
