Trumpet Olds Super Recording just back from a year long restoration at Charlie Melk's shop. Completely restored, new valves (Re-fit) , new lacquer etc. Couple patches were installed by Mr. Melk, not for damage but in wear areas and to prevent more wear for the next 70 years, one where hand sits under bell tube by the valve block, some knuckle covers.
This trumpet was owned, used, and loved by a WW2 vet who carried it throughout his service. He loved this horn and due to his wishes it was there at his celebration of life according to his family. It did show some hand hold wear/ signs of being well cared for. Of course after Mr. Melk did his magic it looks and plays beautifully. A masterpiece of craftsmanship from Olds and now Charlie.
Plays like a dream. This horn is NOT being sold at a profit. It needs to be appreciated and played.
Love this trumpet, have two VERY similar. One has to go.
