This is the marvelous PRESCOLITE articulating Saucer Shade
 desk lamp often falsely attributed to Maurizio Tempestini for
Lightolier due to the similar attached handle on the shade
which Lightolier had introduced a year earlier.

A sensational and eye-popping design in coffee and brass!
 This is one of the finest and instantly recognizable
 mid century desk lamps!

  This lamp has superb presence! It is both stylish
and practical!

Prescolite doesn't get much attention next to names
like Lightolier, Laurel, Rembrandt or Stiffel, but they
were very progressive in promoting advanced modern
designers and came up with many cool designs!
Like Lightolier they were changing the way Americans
viewed interior lighting!

This quality is non-existent today - built like a vintage tank!
Very fine condition with light age appropriate wear to 
enamel, brass and metal. Most of these, after 70 years,
are very pitted and worn. Finding a nice, investment
quality one like this is an incredible find!
