A Plan of London and Its Environs  - a beautifully coloured and highly detailed, original antique hand-coloured map of Victorian London, prepared by R. Creighton, engraved by J & C Walker, and published by S. Lewis in Topographical Dictionary, in 1840, in London. The map in exceptionally good condition, elaborately hand-coloured throughout including decorative borders, title and coats of arms, the original colours are still very good and bright, clear verso, as shown. The map was originally folded in a dictionary but was since kept flat and the folds are barely visible. A small tear repaired in the upper left where it was attached to a book. Three coats of arms at the top titled underneath Westminster, London, Southwark, with the City of London exquisitely coloured.  It measures approximately 21 x 17 inches or 53.5 x 44 cm. The most attractive and extremely detailed Victorian map of London for collectors.
