La Plus Grande Partie de la Manche, qui Contient les Cotes de Angleterre (Situees au Sud-Est, ou est la Tamise - a large, very rare, original antique hand-coloured map of the English Channel / La Manche, published by Reiner and Joshua Ottens in Amsterdam, in c.1720. The map is a double-sheet from an atlas, in very good and clean condition, with minor age darkening along the central joint, elaborately hand-coloured throughout, original colours are very good, rich and appealing, as shown. Highly detailed with numerous names of towns, villages, sandbanks, extremely detailed depiction of the river Thames and its estuary, scale, and a compass rose near the centre. The verso is blank. It measures approximately 25 x 21 inches or 63.5 x 53 cm. A very rare item with excellent colouring, a superb map of the English Channel / La Manche for collectors.
