This card holder may be from Richmond,Virginia’s Church Hill. There may well have been other Church Hill Stores scattered across the country, and this could be from any of them , but the church of “Church Hill” was St. James church where Patrick Henry gave his “Liberty or Death!” Speech

This card holder could be used for many things— playing cards, calling cards, recipes, etc. it seems to be hand gilded and hand lettered, given to customers of the “Church Hill Store” I include a deck of vintage playing cards— they are much more modern than the holder, but compliment it nicely.
