This wonderful, working Live Steam Toy Railroad Train measures approx. 15" long overall and would run on an O Gauge track. The Live Steam Locomotive Engine itself measures approx 9 1/2” long, 5” tall (to the top of the whistle) and 3 1/4” wide across the cylinders at the front end. The Engine is made of brass, cast iron, steel and tin and is in working condition although it lacks its original burner. The Locomotive and Tender feature painted surfaces and the Gebruder Marklin decal is affixed to the back end of the boiler.
The matching Marklin tender is marked “0/35” and has the number “999” on each side. We are not experts on Steam Engine Toys but we believe that this 4-4-0, O Gauge Locomotive and Tender was produced between 1900 and 1925.
This wonderful, Marklin Live Steam Railroad Train displays in excellent condition exhibiting an older, high quality surface restoration. The Locomotive and Tender are near complete lacking only the original burner. Although we have not fired up the Engine we guarantee it to be in working order once the burner has been replaced. The coupler is intact and in working condition. Other than the surface restoration to the Locomotive and Tender, there are no repairs to any kind and all parts are original. The matching Tender also displays beautifully with the same older, high quality, professional restoration. Please see the scans below for a good representation of form and condition of this very rare, early 20th century, Marklin Live Steam Toy Railroad Engine and Tender!!
