Description
We recently attended another great Estate Sale. This person was a collector of all types of vintage cameras. We do not really know if any of them work. We know they were all used by him at one time according to a family member. We do not have batteries or film to test these cameras, and are selling each one as used and as is. We have researched some on these items and will list what we have found along with what each camera does or does not do or have.
This Auction is for a Vintage Keystone 8mm Turret Movie Camera Model K-5 Made in USA. This Movie Camera comes in the original box with the original paperwork.Probably the most interesting of the cameras we purchased at this sale. Probably because of the Self Winding Motor and Turret Which allows the right lens to be choosen. Both of these features work great. We do not have the 8mm film magazine to test, but everything else seems to work as it should and turns smoothly. The problems with this old camera is (1) a lens cover is missing (2) The turret has 3 lenses which rotate depending on the filming conditions the yellow banded lens has no glass in either end, the black and red banded lenses are fine (3) The one cosmetic issue is the grey leather like material underneath the mechanical winder looks like it had some issues and it does not look great, but there is no effect on the cameras performance. The same Grey material on the other side of the camera which opens to put in the film is still in excellent condition.
The Keystone Manufacturing Company was founded in 1919 and operated a massive 300,000-square-foot production plant in Hallet Square, Boston. Production remained centered in Boston for several decades, covering their popular 8mm and 16mm models like the K-8, K-5 and Criterion series.
