John B. Turney was a noted, practicing
attorney, and member of the Ohio Bar in Columbus, Franklin County,
Ohio, during the 1860s. He was also a member of Magnolia Lodge, No. 20.
Catherine Renno was the sister of Mary E. Bassler, and the wife of John
B. Turney — Michael Holstine was the husband of Mary E. Bassler's sister
— Malinda Renno Beers was the sister of Mary E. and Catherine
John B. Turney married Catherine Renno on 18 October 1864, in Columbus,
Ohio. They had two daughters, Theresa E., and Mary Adelaide. He was born
in New York, he moved to Cincinnati in 1850, and relocated to Columbus,
Ohio in 1860. He died on 26 April 1899, in Columbus, Ohio at the age of
56, and was buried at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
