OVERVIEW

The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT DSST (*) is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger and performance vehicles. This model is the original equipment tire of select BMW vehicles.

The tire offers excellent summer weather traction. The tread pattern and tire compound grip the road well in dry and wet weather. The tire is not meant to be used in winter conditions, as the compound loses its road gripping ability in colder temperatures. The circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by eliminating water from below the tire footprint. This ensures a safer driving experience in all summer weather.

The model is a run flat model, which means that it is capable of supporting the vehicle's weight after the loss of air pressure for a temporary time. In case of air pressure loss, the tire can be driven on for 50 miles up to a speed of 50 mph, preventing the driver from being stranded on the side of the road. As a result, the driver is able to drive to a close location where they can change or repair the tire. These tires are meant to be mounted on vehicles that have no space for a spare tire. Regular tires cannot be mixed with run flat tires, as run flat tires have a heavier construction.

The special non-directional tread pattern enhances the tread life. The tires can be rotated when needed and, in this way, they last for a longer period of time. The tread design also evenly distributes the driving pressure across the entire tread area. The equal spreading of the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking along the tread surface prevents irregular tread wear from forming and it lengthens the tread life significantly.

The model's Multi-Radius Tread Technology and the enhanced road contact patch ensure excellent driving stability and steering responsiveness. The maintained road contact stabilizes the tire against the driving pressure, while it increases the steering responsiveness and accuracy. The steering responsiveness becomes quicker and more precise to the driver's commands. The better steering and stability ensure a safer driving experience by making the tire easier to control.

The tire's improved road contact patch and flat tread profile boost the cornering and maneuvering ability and power. They firmly grip the road in all weather and provide additional biting edges for cornering situations. The tread pattern ensures excellent safety and stability during maneuvering as well.

The SP Sport Maxx GT DSST (*) has first-rate high speed performing capability. The reinforced internal structure features Dunlop's Hybrid Jointless Band Technology which maintains the optimal tire shape under all circumstances. As the tire does not deform under the driving pressure affecting it, it is capable of performing to its highest capability.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
