 Specifications 

Deeply Recessed Front Element: The front glass sits deep inside the filter thread, acting as a natural lens hood to effectively prevent lens flare without needing an external hood. 
Thick Rubber Focus Grip: Unlike the slim 1-row pancake models, this version features a wide, chunky rubber focus ring with 2 to 3 rows of textured diamond grip. 
Aperture Coupling Prong (Rabbit Ears): Equipped with the genuine AI-specific metal prong at the f/5.6 position, featuring the classic cut-out holes on either side.  
Minimum Aperture Colour Coding: The smallest aperture setting, f/22, is distinctively engraved in blue, unlike the orange lettering found on the later AIS versions.  
Minimum Focus Distance: Unlike the budget-oriented models restricted to 0.6m, this lens focuses all the way down to a close 0.45m (1.5 feet).  
Bayonet Mount: The rear metal mount is completely flat and smooth, noticeably lacking the semi-circular indexing notch (AIS notch) found on AIS lenses.
