14c28n stainless knife steel is produced by the Swedish company Sandivik. It has similar properties to aeb-l(another stainless knife steel I use regularly). It has extremely high toughness, excellent corrosion resistance, capable of high hardness levels and good abrasion resistance while remaining easy to sharpen and maintain. This combination makes it a user friendly steel and a great choice for any blade.

I’ve been making knives and axes since 2015 from my home workshop in the Adelaide hills, South Australia. Every one is 100% hand made by me. I use a range of high quality steel made in the USA and Europe. I do all my own heat treating in small batches using an electric furnace and individually test the hardness of every knife I make to ensure quality and consistency. I collect, cut and stabilize my own timber and tan my own leather for handles and sheaths. Search Stumpknives on social media or online for more info.
