A gorgeous small box, likely intended for jewelry. It has been covered with 19th C Lyon silk brocade and trimmed with equally antique metallic trims.  It is lined with a pretty pink silk satin damask and the bottom is covered in dusty rose silk velvet.  It's not clear whether these finishes were put together in the Victorian era or gathered and used more recently.

The condition is excellent for its age.  It has a couple of places where the metallic threads have thinned, as pictured.
