This is a really impressive 1970s light fixture in stunning orange opaline cased glass, with a black rice and fall mechanism, wiring and fixings. It also has a chrome handle, to help pull it down.
I have replaced the curly wire and the rise and fall mechanism with new ones as it came to me with a damaged mechanism and old brittle coiled wiring, I have mixed this with as many or the original parts as possible, including the chrome top and handle.
In the space age era rise and fall lights were especially popular over a modernist dining table; low down for elegant mood lighting or left up high to light the whole room for a more family atmosphere.
This design would look great in any room you are planning with a mid-century style. In VERY GOOD vintage condition with only minor signs of age and past use. As mentioned above I have rewired it, while I consider myself competent and have re-wired many of the lights in my own home, I am not a qualified electrician. As you can see it is in working order but you will need either a professional electrician or a confident DIYer to fix it in your desired location, and it will be up to them to get it working there. If you have any concerns about safety you should get it professionally tested too. It is designed to be used with a European 220/240 volt domestic power circuit, so if you are from a country with 120 volt mains (like USA for example) it might need adapting.
