In honor of Israel's 40th Independence Day, a special series was issued and distributed by the Bank of Israel and the IGCMC.

The series consists of coins in circulation with the addition of a special medal marking the 40th Anniversary with the 40th-year emblem on one side and the Bank of Israel building on the other side. Each coin bears the mint year, 5748, the State emblem, and the Hebrew legend "40 to the State of Israel".

Quantity Issued: 16,649  sets only.
