In most cases when the CMOS battery gets disconnected the date will default to the year 1970. An incorrect date on the scanner will cause updates to fail and license errors. Price is for flashing the date to current and replacing the battery only. Snapon will usually try to sell you a new scanner or charge you for a complete board replacement on newer models to fix this issue. Other repairs are also available. Please message for details.
