USS Benewah (APB-35) was a self-propelled barracks ship that served as the lead ship of her class and is most famous for her role as the flagship of the Mobile Riverine Force during the Vietnam War.

Key Historical Service

Vietnam War (1967–1970): Known affectionately as "The Mother Ship," she served as the mobile headquarters for Task Force 117 in the Mekong Delta. She provided air-conditioned living quarters for over 1,100 soldiers, medical facilities, and a floating command post for riverine operations.

World War II & Korea: Though commissioned in March 1946 (missing WWII combat), she supported post-war decommissioning efforts and was later reactivated for the Korean War as a barracks and headquarters ship.
