A very rare Georgian 18th-19th Century Fob Seal Matrix Complete With Intaglio.

The stone Intaglio seal reads “Always At Home” and depicts the Snail motif/image.

This style is dated 1790-1810. There are often French variations so it’s nice to see one in English.

It was a metal detecting find in north east Leicestershire. It’s made of copper with glass stone.

There is some damage to the stone and the gold gilt has worn off the copper.

This has been gently cleaned with water but there are still traces of dirt hence being sold as ‘uncleaned’.
