Here is an antique, 19th century, abalone shell button with a transfer/decal decorative finish.  The design appears to be stylized plant life.  The button is a 2-hole sew through. It measures just under 3/4" in diameter: NBS size small. It is in very good condition with slight loss of transfer design, not unusual for this type of antique button. A shell button with a transfer/decal finish is a must for your collection of assorted shell buttons!
