Precision torque limiter (also known as an overload clutch) that provides backlash-free torque transmission and immediate disconnection of drive components during an overload.
- Bore/Shaft Size: 1.375 inches (1-3/8").
- Torque Range (Size 3): Typically ranges from 70 Nm to 350 Nm (approx. 50–258 lb-ft), depending on the internal spring configuration.
- Max Speed: Up to 1,200 rpm for Size 3.
- Design (Type 453): Features a steel bellows coupling, which allows it to connect two coaxial shafts while compensating for axial, radial, and angular misalignments.
- Backlash-Free: Guaranteed high drive accuracy and long service life.
- Automatic Re-engagement: Once the overload malfunction is rectified, the clutch is ready for use again automatically.
- Safety Disconnection: If the limit torque is exceeded, input and output separate completely to prevent expensive machine damage.
- Monitoring: Typically used with a limit switch that registers disengagement to switch off the drive
