The Panasonic lx7 is a modern classic camera that many photographers appreciate because of its wide lens and old school, but beautifully tactile and effective controls. Its a camera filled with nostalgia and is very rewarding to use. Its great for learning the art of photography. These cameras are no longer produced and can only be bought used, and because of this many are acquired without a hot shoe cover. In many cases they're simply lost through use and they are very difficult to source. If one is found they are usually expensive to buy.
I have a used lx7 which did not come with a hot shoe cover, it frustrated me because it is a very specific design which covers a secondary accessory port which is used for an optional digital view finder. A simple plain flat cover can be bought, however it leaves the accessory port open to dust and the elements. I decided to design my own aesthetically pleasing version.
This cover is 3D printed with durable, sustainable and water resistant filament. It has a stylish contoured design and comes complete with a custom designed clip/holder which can be used to attach the cover to a camera strap, belt or rucksack strap when not on the camera. As with many 3D printed designs they are 98% perfect and the final product does not affect functionality. Please see photos for an accurate representation.
