Traditional style storm lantern with an enamelled green paint finish on the metal body with a built-in glass storm shade.
Storm lanterns use liquid fuel such as kerosene and were designed to provide the user with light in precarious weather conditions where a naked flame would normally be distinguished.
This one has a great lived in look and would make for an excellent decor piece for the garden or home.
It is marked in English swallow brand and also has Chinese characters to the base with a number.
This piece looks as though it could tell many stories and not only looks interesting but is also a functional piece.
There is a small dial at the base which can be used to turn the lamp strength up or down and it has a carry handle for ease of use.
It has not been tested with lamp oil so unsure if it is currently working.
Condition: Fair used condition overall, some heavy surface wear and signs of use commensurate with age, this piece has some rusting and knocks to the green enamel paint
