Jay Strongwater Dragonfly Ornament SDH20133-256 | Green Magenta | Swarovski | Hand-Painted | New
(RETAIL PRICE: 375 USD)
✨ Green Wings. Magenta Body. 100% Handcrafted Magic.
Delicate layered green wings. A rich magenta body. European crystals that catch tree light like morning dew on a dragonfly at dawn. The Jay Strongwater Dragonfly Ornament is not simply a Christmas decoration — it is a piece of hand-blown Polish glass art that happens to hang on a tree.
🌿 THE STORY BEHIND THE PIECE
There is a craft tradition in Poland that has been producing the world's finest glass Christmas ornaments for generations. Old-world artisans. Molten glass. A single breath that shapes each piece into its final form in a matter of seconds — producing a warmth, a depth, and a subtle individuality that machine-made glass will never replicate.
Jay Strongwater found those artisans. And then brought everything his New York studio stands for to what they made.
The Dragonfly Ornament SDH20133-256 begins in a Polish glass workshop where each piece is mouth-blown individually — no two exactly alike, each one carrying the specific character of the breath and the hand that made it. The resulting glass body has a quality of warmth and organic presence that is immediately apparent and impossible to manufacture at scale.
Over that hand-blown glass, layered green enamel is applied by hand — building up the specific depth and luminosity of the dragonfly's wings through multiple applications, each layer adding to the translucent, light-catching quality that makes the wings look genuinely alive. Against those green wings the rich magenta body creates a contrast of the most immediate and the most completely captivating kind — the jewel-like intensity of magenta against the cool, luminous green of the wings creating a color composition that rewards viewing from every angle and in every light condition.
The glitter adds the specific warm shimmer of festive light — different and beautiful at every hour of Christmas Day, from the pale morning light through the warm glow of evening tree lights to the intimate flicker of holiday candlelight.
And throughout — European crystals, individually hand-set — adding points of radiant sparkle that make this dragonfly catch the eye from across a room and hold it up close with the level of detail that only Jay Strongwater's handcraft tradition can consistently deliver.
At 5.5 inches long and 4 inches tall, weighing just 90 grams of finest mouth-blown Polish glass, this ornament has the generous, graceful scale of something designed to be noticed — a standout piece on any branch, a conversation-starting accent in any holiday display, and a genuinely beautiful decorative object in its own right.
