Stephen Polchert is known for his wheel thrown porcelain and stoneware forms, some of which are large scale.  He preferred working with porcelain because the white was a perfect ground for his vivid color glazes. During his lifetime 1920-2008 Polchert had developed hundreds of glazes. Later in his career he focused on crystalline glazes that he felt complimented the forms he was throwing. This a mauve and pinkish / rose colored vase measures appx 7 inches tall 4 1/4" at its widest  point. Signed & dated 48 with light crazing on bottom pre owned excellent condition.
