Original Victorian Gentleman's highly impressive large golden brass pocket watch chain Antique equestrian horse and horse shoe photograph / keepsake fob with ingenious secure bar catch.

C~1890's.

Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios.

(Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph).

Measures; 4.1cm height (including the top ring), 3cm width, 7mm depth and weighs a highly respectable 11 grams.

Wonderful large and chunky brass fob (suspect it was originally silver nickel plated but this has worn away through the passage of time exposing the brass base metal in places) which is beautifully adorned to the front cover with a big lucky horseshoe decoration (correct in having four nail holes to one side and 3 to the opposite side) holding a highly detailed, slightly raised, fiery eyed, bridled horse's head to centre.

The back is smooth, highly polished and free from any inscriptions or initials.

Opens up correctly by releasing the top bar (ingenious design), closing tightly with a very reassuring click.

Inside are two compartments to hold photos/keepsakes of loved ones.

Both are lined with Bishops garnet baize which can easily be removed if desired.

Original brass top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain.

Excellent clean and bright condition with just a little bit of overall wear/patina and fine surface scratches commensurate with age.

Will arrive in a new velvet presentation pouch and be securely and safely packed.

Please view my feedback as guarantee of my integrity.
