1940 Press Photo Fans in line for Rose Bowl tickets in Pasadena, California
This is an original press photo. Pasadena, California: At ten o'clock this morning when tickets went on sale at the Rose Bowl for the New Year's Day football game between Stanford and Nebraska universities there was an estimated crowd of 10,000 people in line for tickets. Only 15,000 tickets were placed on public sale and they were sold in less than two hours at not more than four tickets to a buyer. Hundreds were refused as the windows closed on them before they could reach the booths. Photo shows part of the crowd which was in line to secure Rose Bowl tickets. Photo measures 9 x 7inches.
