"Menace" by Philip MacDonald. Stated First Edition, 1933, by Doubleday, Doran & Co. Good+ in fine DJ (facsimile).

This is a thriller "instinct with terror, with a breathless speed of action," according to the DJ. It was made into a U.S. movie in 1934. The book itself is in good-plus condition -- if it's been read, it doesn't show. The book does have a small sticker on inside front cover: "Young Books, Inc./23 East 63rd Street, New York, N. Y." The black cloth boards are square, clean, and tight - but the top front corner looks as if a thin slice was cut off (see photo). It's very slightly shelf-cocked; you wouldn't notice unless viewed from the top (photos). The spine with its red depiction of a woman's face is particularly interesting. Pages have a red stain on top. The facsimile DJ is in fine condition, bright and colorful. It's protected in a clear mylar wrapper. Overall, a nice, clean volume. The unclipped price indicates the original price was $2.00. 304 printed pages.
