Personally, I did not see any traces of use, the device is in very good condition (therefore, I think that it was not used at all, so please determine the condition from the photo).

The DKP-50A dosimeter is used to determine the individual, total gamma radiation dose in the range from 0 to 50 x-rays at radiation intensity from 0.5 to 200 R / h. It has the shape of an eternal pen and is worn in your pocket. The cylindrical housing of the dosimeter is made of dur-aluminum. Inside the dosimeter hull, the measuring microscope consists of an eyepiece, lens and scale. The microscope allows up to 45 times magnification. The dosimeter scale has 25 divisions, the plot value is 2R. The inside of the dosimeter on the loading side is sealed with a rubber ring and nut. They are protected against atmospheric influences and dirt by a metal cap with a glass in the bottom. The cap must be unscrewed before each loading of the dosimeter. The DKP-50A dosimeters should be handled with care, as impacts and shocks may damage the device.

The dose is read on the dosimeter scale. The dosimeter is charged on the PZ-65 loading desk or on the loading and measuring desk of the DP-23P sets. In addition, the DKP-50A can be charged in the X-ray radiograph DP-66M socket which with an internal battery in the form of two 1.5V R20 cells provides 1000 dosimeters charge and work during 50 hours.

25 pieces of DKP-50A dosimeters consisted of a set of KD-65 dosimeters placed in a wooden box and 50 pieces of DKP-50A in a set of dosimeters DP-23P. Dosimeters of this type can be measured in the temperature range from -20 to +50 degrees Celsius while they do not lose efficiency even at -40. Dosimeters DKP-50A operate at a relative humidity of air up to 95% +/- 3%. In addition, the construction of DKP-50A dosimeters allows them to be in water at a depth of 0.5 m for 30 minutes.

The leakage capacity of dosimeters is:

-2 plots (4R) within 24 hours under normal atmospheric conditions and within 4 hours at -20 +/- 2 degrees Celsius

-3.5 plots (7R) within 24 hours at a temperature of +50 degrees Celsius +/- 2 degrees and within 48 hours at a relative humidity of 95% +/- 3% and at a temperature of +20 degrees Celsius +/- 5 degrees .

The dose measurement error can reach +/- 15% of the total scale value. The weight of the DKP-50A dosimeter is approximately 50 g and its dimensions 135x12 mm.

Until July 1964, DKP-50A dosimeters with magnetic charging contact were produced, after July 1964 DKP-50A dosimeters with mechanical charging contact were produced, which means that only dosimeters with mechanical contact can be charged in the PZ-65 loading panel. In contrast, dosimeters with magnetic contact have caps in the shape of a cone with mechanical contact in the shape of a ring, in addition, the central electrode (visible through the sight glass of the cap) in dosimeters with mechanical contact is made of brass and with an incision to adjust with a screwdriver, this version can be viewed on art photos from my collection.
