Watch Overview

Offered here is a highly collectible timepiece: a vintage IWC wristwatch crafted in solid 14K yellow gold and dating to circa 1935–1940, based on its serial number.

This is a manual-wind watch powered by the original International Watch Co mechanical movement, caliber C83, featuring a small seconds hand. The movement operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour.

The elegant black dial is accented by applied gold-tone Arabic numerals, a railroad minute track, and matching gold hands. The sub-seconds register is located at 6 o’clock. The rare 28mm cushion case, crafted in solid 14K yellow gold, gives the watch its distinctive and refined profile.

It is paired with a black nylon one-piece strap, completing its timeless dress aesthetic. Fully inspected and authenticated by our in-house watchmaker, this timepiece is running accurately and is ready to be worn and appreciated.

History & Legacy of IWC

Founded in 1868 by American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, IWC (International Watch Company) was established with a pioneering vision: to combine advanced American manufacturing methods with traditional Swiss watchmaking expertise. From the beginning, IWC focused on engineering precision and robust mechanical construction, building a reputation for technically sophisticated and highly reliable timepieces.

Among IWC’s most notable historical achievements is its contribution to aviation watchmaking in the 20th century. The manufacture produced oversized pilot’s watches and precision observation timepieces equipped with highly accurate in-house calibers from the renowned 52 family. During World War II, IWC was one of the official manufacturers of the historic “B-Uhr” pilot watches supplied to the German Air Force, securing its place in aviation watch history. These milestones, along with a long tradition of in-house movement development, have established IWC as one of Switzerland’s most respected and technically accomplished manufactures.

Bidding & Offer Guidelines

If you’re unsure whether your offer will be accepted, please feel free to message us beforehand — we’re always happy to discuss respectful offers. We kindly ask that you only submit an offer if you are fully committed to purchasing the item. Once an offer is accepted, the watch will be removed from the market and no longer available to other buyers.

About Vintage Timepieces

Vintage watches often run smaller than today’s standards. Men’s wristwatches typically measure between 29–36mm (excluding the crown), while women’s models—especially from the early 1900s to the 1970s—can be considerably smaller. We encourage you to review the measurements provided and reach out with any sizing questions.

Our collection features timepieces that are 20 to 100 years old. Naturally, they may show honest signs of age such as light scratches, patina, or worn straps—features that often add to their unique character and charm. Unless noted as recently serviced, vintage watches may eventually require routine maintenance to keep accurate time. If you’re looking for quartz-level precision, a modern watch may be a better fit.

Pre-Owned Condition

We offer a mix of brand new and pre-owned watches. Pre-owned pieces might have some cosmetic wear, which we always describe clearly. Take a close look at the photos and don’t hesitate to message us if you have any questions before buying.

We do not use Photoshop to hide imperfections—only to clean up the background. What you see is what you’ll get. We take great care to present our watches honestly and transparently, and we’re proud to stand behind every piece we sell.
