A truly beautiful and quite pristine collector's edition of this charming original Beatrix Potter story "The Tailor of Gloucester" bound in red cloth with elaborate gilt detailing and a sweet vignette of The Tailor of Gloucester on this luxury edition slipcase. 

This book is one issued for a special edition of Beatrix potter books that started with 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' in 1993 to mark the 100th anniversary (centenary) of Beatrix Potter writing the letter to her little friend Noel. The letter that started this classic series of children's stories by Beatrix. 

The Tailor of Gloucester was first published in 1903. This is a first edition as this is the first time the book appeared in this format - with the illustrations improved by electronic scanning from Beatrix's original watercolours.

CONDITION: This collectable luxury Beatrix Potter gift book is a special centenary edition from 1987.

The exquisite gilt edged pages appear untouched and the wonderful binding just as when it was first published.

The red cloth bound boards and slipcase are excellent with no sign of any wear.
