This is a first edition published in 1938 by Houghton Mifflin.

The book binding is tight, pages are clean.  There are no marks, names, underlining.

There is a small bookstore label on back endpaper.

Cover cloth, corners, and spine show no wear.

Dust jacket is not price clipped.  It has very small amounts of wear on the corners and a wrinkle and tear on top front cover, as shown in photo.

The title page and opposing page are in bright color.  There are line drawings throughout the story by Frank Schoonover.
