Based on internet research, I believe it is from Burma. This is what I found -
- Origin: Southeast Asia, specifically Burma (Myanmar).
- Function: Historically used to store betel leaves, areca nuts, and lime paste for chewing.
- Material: Woven bamboo or wood with a lacquer finish.
- Age: Often dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
