⚡ New Internal Battery Fitted
Every cartridge in this listing has had its internal save battery replaced with a brand new CR2025 battery. Original Game Boy Pokémon cartridges are now over 20 years old, and the vast majority have dead or dying batteries — meaning saves can be lost at any time, or may not work at all.
Why does this matter?
| • |
Guaranteed save functionality — your game progress will save reliably, no more losing hours of gameplay |
| • |
Years of life ahead — a fresh CR2025 will keep your saves safe for 15–20+ years |
| • |
Play immediately — no need to open the cartridge yourself or source tools and batteries |
| • |
Time-based events work correctly — essential for Gold, Silver, and Crystal where the real-time clock relies on the battery |
| • |
No risk of mid-game failure — most untouched cartridges from the late 90s have batteries operating well beyond their expected lifespan and can die without warning |
|
Buying a Pokémon cartridge without a new battery? There is a very high chance the original battery is dead or close to failing. You'll either be unable to save at all, or risk losing your save file at any moment. Every cartridge we sell has been tested with the new battery to confirm saves work correctly.
