The Vintage 1950 L&R Precision Watch Cleaning Machine is a specialized tool designed for cleaning and maintaining watches. Made by the brand L & R in the United States, this watch cleaning machine is a valuable tool for watch enthusiasts and professionals alike. The MASTER model is known for its effectiveness in restoring and rejuvenating vintage timepieces, making it a sought-after piece for collectors and watch aficionados looking to maintain the beauty and functionality of their cherished timepieces.
This machine had been restored by its previous owner. After a thorough inspection, all soldering joints and wires are in great condition. I have tested all the functions. They are all working, including the light which tells you that the heater is on. This 76 year old machine is build to last and was updated with modern wires.
I’m an amateur watchmaker myself and compared it to my Kiwi cleaner that I 3-D printed. I did my own test and discovered that both machines are excellent. The heater in the L&R is hot and fast. The speed in which you can spin the basket to remove fluids is also very fast. The heft of the cast-iron base is very nice. Its overall design is excellent. This machine has a mfg. date pictured 7/1950.
It comes with three original jars. There are also three wave reducers in each jar. The basket easily fits a normal wrist watch movement. There are three lids, some have some chips visible in my photos. I use Alma WF Pro cleaner and rinses. These cleaning chemicals have a strong odor. I purposely kept these cleaners in the L&R jars with lids on for 24 hours. I did not notice any strong scent after leaving the solutions for 24 hours in the room.
This is an amazing opportunity to buy a working cleaner. As a Youtube watch learner, you can see these similar machines in Wrist Watch Revival and other watchmakers videos.
