The Bryston BP2 Phono preamplifier was bought a few years ago and never used. It has an early serial number. The PS3 power supply, also never used, is of the 240v line voltage. Original boxes for both the Phono preamplifier and PS3 power supply are included. This Bryston Phono preamplifier is typically used in conjunction with magnetic pickup cartridges, where the small signal can be amplified sufficiently and faithfully prior to feed in to the main power amplifier. The BP2 allows for matching of output Impedance of magnetic pickup so that maximum power can be delivered to power amplifier from the small signal pickup output.
Although my Bryston setup originally had a ceramic cartridge and Dual Turntable (going back a few years) I intended to move to the magnetic cartridge, whether coil or moving magnet, and experiment a bit with the sound. I also had horns, which are superb for low power reproduction where the fidelity is best.
