Handsome, antique, engraved, green snail shell picture button. Featuring a charming bird head, flowers and scrolls, it reminds me of illuminated manuscript images/letters. Lovely iridescence as is typical of green snail. Measures approximately 1.25". 

The last of my three examples, there are conditions issues to note, and the price reflects this. The overall face surface has natural irregularities. There is a layer edge that reaches the surface, particularly at the top, and has captured some of the design infill. A tiny dip near the top edge that has captured infill. Additionally a tiny hole in the material has left a tiny nip on the edge, near beak.  The reverse has the outer shell layers and uneven thickness, with one portion of the edge much thinner.

Surface wear, marks and abrasions are present, with some loss to black infill. Still a handsome example. Please see all photos for details/sizing/condition. Use zoom.
